What Is a Soft Tissue Ultrasound?
A soft tissue ultrasound scan uses high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of structures beneath the skin.It shows the size, depth and make-up of a lump — for example whether it is solid or filled with fluid, and whether it has a blood supply. Common findings include lipomas (fatty lumps), cysts, swollen lymph nodes and ganglions. If the appearance is not clear-cut, your report will explain whether any further tests are advisable.

What Happens During a Lump Scan?
